In Western
construction, a living room or lounge room is a room in a residential house for
comforting and hanging out. In other words, it’s a private residence designed
for general social and leisure activities. Such a room is at times called a
front room when it is close to the main entry at the front of the house. The
term sitting room is occasionally used equally with living room, though a
sitting room may also happen in a hotel or other public building. The term
living room was invented in the late 19th or early 20th century.
